January’s Tip: Mulligan Mechanics Part VII Mulligan Protrusion Arch

By Dr. Adrian J. Palencar, MUDr, MAGD, IBO, FADI, FPFA, FICD

The Mulligan Protrusion Arch is indicated for protrusion of retroclined incisors (i.e., Class II, division 2), and is very easy to fabricate 5.0 – 6.0 mm tall Vertical open loop abutting the first molars with Loop forming pliers (or Long bird beak) pliers. The Mulligan Protrusion Arch may be passive, intrusive, or extrusive, depends on if you activate it with a tip-back or tip forward.
