The International Journal of Orthodontics (IJO) is a peer-reviewed journal.  The IJO is the quarterly publication of the International Association for Orthodontics (IAO).    The IAO’s mission is to promote an exchange of ideas and experiences based on a biomechanical approach between the various fields of dentistry related to orthodontics.  As such, the journal’s focus is disseminating well-founded knowledge related to the field of orthodontics.  The information is provided through research, case studies, and academic review.  The articles within the journal come from research teams at universities, industry leaders in orthodontics, and established practitioners from around the world.

The IAO aims to promote the establishment and maintenance of the highest ideals in orthodontic practice, research, and development worldwide for the benefit of all orthodontic patients.  The association’s journal must meet rigorous publication standards to uphold these ideals.  Please click the button below to view the International Journal of Orthodontics’ Policies Document.
